The ex-Smiths guitarist has gone solo. His first record under his own name is set to be released on February, 25 through Warner Bros. Records. The album’s title The Messenger, is also the name of its first single, for which Marr has uploaded the video earlier today.
It will be the first album featuring the legendary guitarist since Ignore The Ignorant by The Cribs came out four years ago.
Johnny Marr has been spending the past year-and-a-half between Manchester and Berlin to record his first solo LP, which was mastered at Abbey Road studios.
Marr ‘will be touring the UK in March 2013 and playing festivals worldwide’, according to his official website.
