The Strokes announce new album

The Strokes just announced they will be releasing their fifth album on March, 25 in the UK and March, 26 in the US. The record is called Comedown Machine and will be the follow-up to their latest effort Angles which came out in 2011.

The first single from the album is titled ‘All The Time’ and will be available as a free download on February, 19th when you pre-order Comedown Machine via iTunes or the band’s online store. However, the single should get some radio airplay from Valentine’s Day onwards.

The news come less than a week after The Strokes offered for free a song off their forthcoming album. It is called ‘One Way Trigger’ and there may be a reason why it is free. The song signals a change of sound from their previous records. While it may be too early to call the track an awful piece of shit, it sure has a strange combination of Brazilian rhythms and 80’s-like video game soundtracks, topped by Julian Casablancas’ unusually high vocals.
